The Club exhibition was launched in Blanchardstown Library Tues 21 Jan 25.  A team of willing volunteers on Monday worked hard setting up the display of over 90 wonderful photographs taken by and chosen by club members themselves.  Each photo was labelled by Mary with the title of the image and the name of the photographer. It made an impressive display when it was all ready. On Tuesday evening, after a few welcoming words by our Chairman, Tony Redmond, the exhibition was launched by Emer Currie TD.  She spoke of the positive influence that photographs and photography have in the wider community. She referred to her time in Marketing when she got to understand the importance and the influence of photographs. She said photographers are ‘historians and documentarians’ and that ‘in life it was most important to follow our passions’.  Emer also said the club was wonderful to have thrived over such a long period of time. She offered her congratulations to everyone in the club for the excellent photographs on display and for the huge effort involved in putting the exhibition in place.  The event was also attended by Councillor Siobhan Shovlin and family and friends of our members, in addition to some members of the public who visited the exhibition. Another team of members ably provided tea, coffee, soft drinks and sandwiches which contributed greatly to making the launch a very successful event.
